Role overview

As a Shop Floor Technician at our premium food and beverage trailer manufacturing company, your role will be multifaceted and dynamic. We are a small company and looking for someone who is ready and happy to fill different roles. If you are looking for a workplace where every day you might be doing something different while helping us build beautiful F&B trailers, you are the right candidate. 

With that said, while skills in electrical work, plumbing, vinyl wrapping, and CAD are highly valued, we are looking for someone ready to contribute with his/her welding skills. 

This position reports directly to the Chief of Engineering & Manufacturing.

Main accountabilities

  • Perform welding tasks using various processes such as TIG and MIG.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding symbols to understand welding requirements.
  • Set up welding equipment and select appropriate tools, gas mixtures, and consumables.
  • Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, degreasing, and removing any contaminants.
  • Monitor and adjust welding parameters to ensure proper penetration, fusion, and overall weld quality.
  • Inspect welded joints for defects or irregularities and perform necessary rework or repairs as required.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize welding processes.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including materials usage and inspection results.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance welding skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in welding, with a preference for candidates with experience in aluminum and stainless steel welding.
  • Proficiency in basic welding processes such as TIG, MIG, and stick welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Familiarity with welding equipment and tools, including welding machines, torches, and consumables.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot welding issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform welding tasks for extended periods.
